Memory card recovery

I'm in need of recovery software for memory cards.
I forgot to download photo's to my computer before reformatting my memory card.
Information/guidance would be appreciated.
I use a mac book pro.

Sure it will, if you haven't used the card for anything else. The only thing that will be missing will be the original file names, but the images can be recovered. That is why people are told not to use or write anything to a card once they've discovered an accidental reformat or erase.

I used "CardRecovery" software several times on a card that was corrupted.
The problem - I think - was because I did not wait for the buffer to upload to the card before shutting the camera off -- Thus, causing the 16 Gig memory card (CF) to become corrupted.

On the recovery I found photos from over two years ago. I had formatted that card several times before the card went nutz.

After the recovery I reformatted the card In Camera (ALWAYS do THAT) and it works great - again - No Problems.

So...

The formatting of the card(s) really does not effect the images that are on a memory card. I do not know about CS cards, or larger memory capacity.
