About to buy Eye-Fi SD card for use with Canon D6 only to wirelessly upload images from the camera to a Macintosh computer. Will it work well?

Did you go to their site and check your camera compatibility?
I'd recommend you buy it from a place with a good return policy; B&H or Adorama, that way if something goes wrong you can return it.
Are you buying the mobi pro?
If you need help, pm me, I've used them for years and love them.
I'm on a MacBook Pro with a Fuji (unsupported) camera with no problems

It looks like the Mobi is the only card they sell now, and it's not compatible with their other cards. I bought one and learned the hard truth. I returned it to them and got a refund. I'm amazed that they couldn't let both systems exist on the same computer.

No, they sell the Mobi Pro too. And you can buy the X-2 Pro from Amazon still. (it's just not officially supported)
The Mobi and Mobi Pro are two different cards for sure.

Yes, Pro and non-Pro are different, but Mobi is all they sell now. For the slight difference in price, Pro is the way to go. I'm staying with my old Eye-Fi cards.

No..mobi is not all they sell.
They sell Mobi Pro and Mobi.
They are two different products with an unfortunate similarity in names.
The pro is part X2Pro and part Mobi.
I have the older Mobi 16GB card. Mine is made to transfer images from camera to phone or tablet. It works ok, but every time I go to use it I have to mess around to get it working. One thing I don't like about it is that I can't remove it from my camera and use my card reader to transfer the images. I must use a transfer cable from the camera to the computer if I choose to download images into LR.

I'm puzzled why you would consider this, as you have a camera with build-in Wi Fi, that does't need a special card and the Wi Fi on the 6D supposed to work especially well?

Thanks. I just bought the 6D and wasn't aware that it could upload images to a laptop. The instructions mention a number of devices to do this with but seemed hazy at least to me about connecting wirelessly to computers. I'll have to go back and read more carefully.

The main reason for using an Eye Fi (even when your camera does wireless) is (in my opinion) the amount of hassle you want to go through to get images from the camera to the laptop.
My Fuji requires:
1.) Push button on camera
2.) Connect to camera wifi.
3.) Push button on camera acknowledging connection
4.) Choose picture to transfer
5.) Disconnect.
The Eye Fi works like this:
1.) Take picture.
2.) In 5-10 seconds your picture is in Lightroom ready to view or edit without intervention.
OR if you are out and about:
1.) Come into the house; set camera on kitchen table and open Lightroom on laptop.
2.) Crack open a cold beer.
3.) Go view your images in Lightroom that transferred without your help.
That's worth the price of admission for me.
