Does anyone know how to get backdrop clothes or paper and paint it, NBC. Not green clothes this is for photographing flower.
I think the world is your burrito... you could use a bed sheet or buy a cheap one if you need a specific color. You could get into tie dying if you want some random patterns
Use dyes, not paint, and either dye in the washing machine or, for 'blotchy' or 'abstract' backgrounds, squeeze the dyes on from sponges while wearing rubber gloves (and old clothes!) Builders' drop cloths, normally used for protecting furniture during building works or painting, are ideal, but check that they are (a) cotton, or at least mostly cotton, so they take the dye and (b) are in one piece instead of having a seam down the middle.

I wanted to know. How to make artistic backgrounds. I have made plain backgrounds with colored linen over sprinkler pipes that my husband made stands, and I sewed the linen to go over the top so it would not have creases in it,Is there a canvas or material that I could paint an artistic pattern, all the paper in the craft shops are copyrighted and I cannot use it.
Try painters cloth....walmart.
Thanks, will do great idea. Candy

I buy linen overlays. 72" square ones are about $3.50. The colors are much more consistent than paint, and I use them with a background support system (like two tripods with a bar between them), or to drape over furniture or staircases for portrait shots.
Great tip! Thanks
Dick Blick.com has all types of background papers in some
twenty colors including background sweeps that would be
ideal for your needs.

Background CLOTH'S are made on painters cloth's and painted with latex - usually sprayed, lighter colors first.
When I am in bed&bath with my wife I look at the discount table for Ca king flat sheets. Got some good sheets for $20.
go to walmart and buy some tulling, great colors, you and scrunch, layer, & drape over an existing plain backdrop to get multiple looks.
also if you have a paper backdrop, once it gets dirty, cut it off, scrunch it then re-hang. it will give you a great texture, just make sure subject is not too close to backdrop!
this last one will not cost anything! If you have a window with a miniblind, check when the sun comes thru it and if it causes a pattern on a plain wall, voila! instant graphic backdrop!
Have fun!
Three little words with big inpack Green Screen Wizard, use green or blue. Thats all you need. I have 1000s of backgrounds I use in my event photography business(Fantasize Your Image). I buy a lot of digital backgrounds from ebay. Also go to any seach on the net and type images and there your take your pick. Also for $10. a month I'm in an on line club

I've "made" a couple using fabric remnants. I made a pocket for my backdrop stand pole to slide thru and viola a backdrop.
Before I had my backdrop stand, I used fabric clipped to a piece of wood paneling.
Here's a idea for you. check out photographicbackdrop.com for rolls of backdrop paper. They come in 26", 53"and 107" width by 12 yards, and in many colors. Cameras stores often carry this paper. Then go to a hardware store and get some FAST DRY spray paint, and get creative. I have about seven base colors that I use for portrait work. Some rolls have more than one background on them. Sometimes this paper comes in a box that you can store it in. Otherwise you can make a storage tube out of light weight pvc pipe. If you decide to try this, I would suggest that you hang the paper when you spray it. Mistakes are easy to fix. Some of my backgrounds were painted over twenty years ago and still look great today.
