This is a ridiculous story about a talented guy.

Maybe the cop is smoking too much and it is affecting his outlook on life.

WOW, what would justify a cop from even wasting his time to do report this. Did they name the cop? Either he's on the parking meter patrol and wants to move up to bigger and more interesting cases or is already on more serious cases and is stressed out and needs a break to something a little less demanding!

Stupidity 101

Swede :? :?

"Destruction" of public property? Really? I hope everybody there starts stacking rocks.

I suspect they have a team of rock checkers. They go out every morning and record the locations of the rocks in the streams.

Just the typical cop trying to assert his power over someone.

Come on, this guy needs to be arrested along with all the little kids throwing rocks into the water. And maybe the parents who let them. Boulder must be free of crime and the cops have nothing else to do.

Sounds like people with no talent and very little mentality probably should not be allowed on a police force. Jealousy is a potent and unnecessary vice carried out by very small intellectually challenged people. These cops should leave stuff like this to the people who are more fit and comfortable handling such things, like say left wing politicians.

You have to keep in mind that many police officers are not highly educated and they are not highly paid. We cannot expect them to always be lawyers and social workers. That is why we need to work with our city counsels and county commissioners who oversee these folks and make sure that there are no abuses of power. I am sure most officers would not really want to spend their time hassling someone for stacking rocks up...

The Boulder cops who worry about rock stacking usually have more important things to do:

Talk about scum in uniform. I'll bet not a lot of punishment coming their way, that blue on blue crap usually prevails. Protected species and all.

If he was a rock-musician, I could understand it more.

I think if I was the Police Commissioner in Boulder, I would instruct the Chief of Police to change the police officer, that started this mess, to the graveyard shift where he can go after actual criminals!!

I agree that those given the power of lethal force by the State need to be carefully restrained. It seems though you made an inference that because they are "not highly educated" they are more prone to abuse. If so, do you believe highly educated people are less prone to abuse of power than "not highly educated"?

If he needs to leave Boulder, I am sure he would be welcome in Grand Marais Minnesota. On the beach near the Coast Guard station there is a whole farm of rock cairns. Few of them are as finely balanced as the one shown here.
