This is a timeless image of a Native American at the Viet Nam Memorial Wall. He walked up beside me and when he found his friend's name, he dropped to one knee. This image transcends many generations of Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

Let us all remember today, Memorial Day, what Freedom costs. Remember also those who paid that price. Please take a moment today to bow our heads in prayer. Thank you.

My dad served 23 years in the Navy, he was on the USS Hornet when Jimmy Doolittle took off to bomb Japan. I served 3 1/2 years in the Navy in the late 70's.

Memorial Day ceremony at Pioneers and Soldiers Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There are veterans interred there from all wars before WW2 but not from the Revolutionary War. The image is a pano of the audience and the video is Last Post. Images by iPad Air 2.

Sorry, the Last Post video didn't come through as a result of the lack of capability of my gear.

I never pass a vet that has on his hat that tells what branch of service he served in that I don't fail to thank him for his service. Im a Korea vet myself And Im glad to wear my Navy cap. I always try to Talk to an old vet when I see them all alone in the dinner.
