Conservatives believe that the process laid out in the constitution is the most important thing.
That is why progressives love terms like "living document," and conservatives are generally more enamored of "original intent."
Laws that are no longer relevant should be changed by the lawmakers, i.e., Congress, on the Federal level.
If the constitution needs to be changed, there is a process for that. It involves all Americans, not just 9 superannuated geezers in black robes.
