I read it.

It was a warning about wild animals. The one that got my attention was about bison.

"A bison can weigh up to 2,000 lb, and can run up to 30 mph..."

At that time I weighed 275 lb and could run no faster than about 5 mph, even if motivated by a bison on my tail. Right then and there I gained a whole new respect for these animals, and I always, always gave them a wide berth.

I think we have whole new generations of humans who are so detached and insulated from the wild that they cannot conceive of anything invading their bubbles. Unfortunately, once in a while reality prevails, often with tragic consequences.

Watching the "crazy" tourists these past four days only proves that everyone has the right to be stupid; some choose to abuse that right.

I was in Yellowstone last year, and the guide who was with us informed us that an adult buffalo is capable of leaping a SIX FOOT FENCE. FROM A STANDSTILL. Those are some truly powerful animals.

Too much of the Disneyland syndrome. People think that everything is put there for their entertainment, and it's safe.
