I switched from bees to flowers and leaves.

Taken with a Pentax K-50 using a SMC Pentax-FA 100mm f:2.8 macro lens. ISO 800, 1/250th @ f:9.5.

This lens is capable of shooting 1:1, although I don't think I got quite that close on this round. In another post, I might have gotten closer, with the bees. The lens is so sharp that I can crop a lot more than I'm used to... and still maintain good IQ. Out of habit, I always "crop in camera," and have very little cropping to do in PP.... but, that's just a carryover from the film days. With this lens... and it's little brother, the FA-50mm macro, it just isn't necessary.

If you are doing 1:1 you'll need to set that it on the barrel...there should be a few different ratios...1:1, 1:2, etc...

Thank you one and all for the kind words. I'm really enjoying this lens. Probably the most useful lens I own, as far as the kind of photography I like.

Wonderful work. I am convinced that I am overlooking too much. I probably am guilty of "can't see the trees because of the forest".

Thank, Rolly. I think that most of us are guilty of the same thing. In all the hubbub and "life in the fast lane," we often fail to stop and take the time to really look at what's right underneath our noses. Just a slight difference in the angle, under just a little different lighting, with a blurred background, very often things will reveal themselves as we've never seen them before. And us, as photographers.... the "visual journalists" of the world.... have an obligation to show others that world.

As I age, I tend to "SEE" things more than I used to. It's almost as if I'm in a race against time to record all these visions I can before the lights go out.
