I had a terrible time trying to zoom & take photos with the Canon SX50.I guess it just had to be me because so many people love that camera. My photos just never seemed sharp enough for me so I sold it!

I, too, have had trouble zooming with the Canon SX50. I also do not like the low resolution of the screen. I have not sold mine, and I do use it, but it is one camera that if I had it to do over again, I would not buy.

And, thank you digit-up. A lot of people come here with legitimate questions, and others try to participate in an earnest way only to be maligned by a few jerks.

Every once in awhile I learn something from this site, but the nastiness on it as made me want to get out on more than one occasion.

I know the people on here whose opinion I respect. I don't comment very much unless I believe I have something to offer, but I do believe this would be a much better site if certain people would refrain from negative and belittling comments. I

Nikon D100. Unquestionably the slowest to react of any dSLR I have ever used. Photos were okay, so long as you weren't trying to catch action or expressions.

Gotta agree about Polaroids, mine was a '90's version. Apparently they never soloved the problems-must have been quality control.I have about five p&s, all quite good in all respects (or I wouldnt have kept them). SLRs are a different animal, designed around a different purpose, and with lots od advantages, some disadvantages (never knew of a "pocket slr". lol The latest DSLRs are amazing products with capabilities way beyond what I will ever make use of. They are not so much for "casual" photography. To me, anything which produces a viewable photo is a good camera, some better than others.

My worst camera was a 1970s Polaroid. The film tabs would pull off without the film coming out, the rollers would not spread the chemicals evenly, and so on. However, it was the camera that taught me exposure.

My most hated cameras are DSLRs. All of them. Big and clunky. Lenses way too big for useable focal lengths, and wide lenses always a problem. Even film SLRs are better sized than DSLRs.

There is a great wealth of info being shared here, almost all in a friendly manner. The UHH forum is just a great place to come to and be in touch with like-minded photographers. The NASTY is really pretty rare, and when it does rear its' ugly head, fellow forum members aren't very tollerant of it. Usually, the perpetrater is soundly embarrassed and cools off in the proverbial dunce-cap, in the corner. SELENE: I say..keep visiting UHH, no-one can reach out of the screen to hurt you and most folks are here for the same reason you came bye!! RJM

My first camera was a box camera in 1936 or 1937. The perspective of taking pictures from a camera at one's waist looks odd today. If any of you can tell me how to attach a picture, I'll attach one to demonstrate

My first Digital camera - A Casio QV-10. I don't even want to go there. I was so disappointed with it I don't think I took more then 50 snaps with it. Have no idea where it is today or what ever happened to it.

That Casio is bound to be a collectors item someday. My first digital was a Sony Digital Mavica, (FD-75) although decent photo quality for the time,it was like lugging a toaster! The casio at least looked like a camera!

I loved my Mamiya C330's , except for the MX sync switch that could be moved accidently. All the wedding photos I shot with the 80mm lens at my sister's wedding were black- sync switch went to M. They are still married.

The only camera I disliked using was the Koni-Omega Rapid 100 or 200 (KE-58) I used briefly at the USAF photo school in Denver. They replaced the Graflex XL with the Koni for press-type cameras then. On paper I think the specs looked good, but in actual use, I really disliked it (hate is such a strong word). The advance mechanism was pretty loud and it didn't feel very comfortable in my hands. No Polaroid back option either. I thought he Graflex XL was a wonderful camera -when it worked.

I have been enjoying the 'most beautiful camera' thread here and it got me thinking about my first camera. A total lemon. In the late 60's I had saved up my paper route money and bought a Praktica. The shutter never worked right, everything was overexposed and after a month the camera store gave me a full refund after seeing me in there week after week. One of the employees had taken a liking to me and he told me about a used Nikon F that had come back from Vietnam and was pretty banged up. The prism was broken and a local camera repair man had it in his shop fixing it up and put a beat up FTn head from another abused camera on it. Cosmetically, my F was UGLY! But it worked perfectly and came with a 50mm f/2 lens. I went from a beautiful, shiny new Praktica that never worked right to a travel worn, pieced together old workhorse. I consider that Nikon F as my first real camera, I only got a few properly exposed pictures with that Praktica.

Mine was a Kalimar SR200. A Russian camera with the light meter built into the body. Bought it somewhere in the late 50's. That camera served me well for over 10 years. A few years ago I bought an identical Kalimar from Ebay to have in my collection. When I got it the light meter still worked. It sits on my shelf along with the other cameras in my collection.

I bought a used Pracktica as my first SLR and had good luck with it. No meter so I used a hand held one. It had a 50mm lens.

But my worst camera was a Rollei (sp?) SLR. I bought it and it was horrible to use and broke after a week.
