Sigma ER-610 DG ST Flash for Nikon

I just bought this flash because of its guide number of 61. No complaints about how powerful it is. Can someone tell me why I can't see the ready flash mark does not appear in the view finder of my Nikon D5100? I also like to get good or bad feedback if you have this flash. Thank you for your help.

My brother and I both have this flash for Caonon T3is and think it is great. The ready light doesn't show in my view finder either. Everything else seems to work like 2nd curtian and off camera ettl.

How long did you have your Sigma EF-610 DG ST? Is this this the super model? What is second curtain and how do you create that effect in my Nikon D5100? Thanks.

Yes, the one for Canon cameras. Had it since January this year. 2nd curtian is when it flashes at the end of the exposure. You use slow shutter speeds, showes motion freezing at the end. It is under the flash control menu on the canon. Don't know about the Nikon menus. Google "black foamy thing" if you haven't seem this guy's site he is killer with on flash photography. Just start with his settings and this flash gives amazing results.
