Has anyone had any experience with refurnished lenses from Amazon?
They have a 18-140 mm certified for $270.00. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have a Nikon d-7100. Looking to upgrade walk around lens.
Best,
Jules

Most likely it's a factory refurb lens. You can always ask the question on the page. Is Amazon the seller or is it a third party? How about a link?
EDIT -
Found it. Clearly states it's a factory (Nikon) refurb and that it's sold by Beach Camera. Don't know about Beach as I've never dealt with them, but Nikon refurbs are good to go.
I have used Canon refurbished lenses from several outlets. If you make sure it is a Nikon refurbished and that it has a warranty you will be good.

Yes,I bought a used, refurbished 55-300 from Amazon a few years ago & love it.It was refurbished by Nikon & that's good enough for me.Amazon is really great about returns,if you aren't satisfied, let Amazon know they will send you a return label & pay the shipping. So it's a win win!

If it's fulfilled by Amazon, you probably will be OK. If you have to go through Beach, that may be a different story.
I've bought several pieces fulfilled by Amazon that came from some of the places that have bad reputations, as mentioned on UHH, and have not had any problems.
I think they don't want to piss off Amazon. Too much of a cash cow.

Don't know if it's the same outfit, but Nikon lists "beachcamerabuydig" as an authorized distributor on their site.

No problem with Beach Camera! I bought my D5300 & Nikkor 18-140mm as a package this past Fall. Genuine USA warranty, free shipping, and since I'm in NY and they're in NJ...no sales tax.
Since I bought my Sigma 18-300mm, I really have no use for my 18-140mm if you're interested.
Oh, yes. It was through AMAZON.

Thanks for the information. I bought one yesterday. Refurbished from B & H.
Had a couple dealings with Beach Camera. Had no problems.
Also had several dealings with Beach that have been fine. They offered the best price for my Tokina 12-24 when I bought it (some years ago now).
As to refurbished... it depends upon who refurbished it. Sometimes used equipment sellers refer to their stuff as refurbished, though it may or may not be.
Refurbished implies that "factory style" inspection and testing was done, any needed repairs or adjustments have been professionally made, and often a warranty longer than what's offered on used gear is included.
Refurbs from the manufacturer themselves are pretty certain. B&H, Adorama, KEH and other well-established used equipment dealers I'd tend to trust, too. Adorama direct is fine, too. At times I've bought from all of them.
On the other hand I'd tend to be be more suspicious of so-called refurbs from other/unknown sellers within Amazon or on eBay, etc. (Note: B&H, Adorama, KEH and some other reputable used-equip. dealers do sell both on Amazon and eBay).

I have bought both cameras and lenses directly from Beach Camera. They have a staff that knows their merchandise, ship promptly, and have presented me with no problems.

My refurbished 24-120 VR came from BuyDig / Beach through Amazon. It was in a Nikon refusbished lens box with 90 day warranty. No problems with this lens at all.

Bought this lens. I am glad I did. It's like brand new.
