A Texas man was just put to death for killing a San Antonio police officer 14 years ago. My support for the death penalty has become largely a spiritual one....that a high percentage of the hardest men, and women, find God in the years that they face their own mortality in a solitary environment. I must praise God that another hardest of the hard has found God before his death. Please read the story.
I'm against the death penalty not for altruistic reasons but because it cost the tax payers less to incarcerate. Also, living a miserable existence is better punishment than peace after death. Steve, when you refer to 'finding God' do you mean Allah as many of the convicts are Muslim.
