Very nice, how long of a lens did you use? What WB were you set on? Looks like Daylight, a very slight blue cast, try changing the WB to cloudy or shade if you have that on your camera. When you submit photos check the box (store original) so we can get a better look. Please don't tell me that you shot those shots from your avatar, What's that your flying?

Thank you for the kind words!

The WB was on daylight though it was overcast outside. This was a 55-250 shot at 225mm but cropped quite a bit, thats why I didn't store the original...

My avatar is a Grob 103 glider, I love soaring! I also have a Piper Cherokee that I derived my screen name from.

Thanks Erv, I don't know if he is a rescue, there are two adults and a juvinile that hang around a local lake. The two adults have bands.

Thanks, I couldn't believe how noisy a glider is, at least the ones that I have flown in. I have taken more "G's" in a glider than I thought possible. Really like your eagle shots. Were you shooting with a crop body and in RAW if an easy fix, nice composition and as was pointed out banded. Back to flying, started out rebuilding an old Bi-wing Waco, dual open cockpit. Never did license but was associated with air traffic for 20 years.

Yes, a Canon 550D, but not in RAW, my chip was getting full...
I have CS6 & can play with some adjustments.
The Grobs are all fiberglass and very quiet, like having a window open an inch or so in the car, I know what you mean about G's, on a half decent day in a small thermal it's not uncommon to circle for half hour at close to two G's, but that's half the fun!!
I have total respect for ATC!!

Thanks. The first thing my wife ever flew in was a glider and when she landed she was speechless. I had given her a camera with a full roll of film, 36 shots, with a second roll to load and keep shooting. We got I think 2 good shots out of the first roll and she never loaded the second, after all she was only up for about an hour  . On one flight during an airshow I ask the pilot to descend so I could get a better shot of the crowd. He went almost straight down and ducked so I could get a better shot and when he pulled up I just knew the wing was going to come off. I wish I knew how many "Gs" I pulled.

Have a good weekend , have fun and fly safe...Ron

Erv...Eagles are banded when they are six weeks of age...the silver band on this Eagle is a federal band. All banded Eagles have the silver band on one leg...and a different colored band on the other...representing what state they came from. The Eagle pair where I live...the female has a silver band on one leg...and a blue band on the other leg. The blue band can either be from Florida or New York...in the case of mine New York...we found out from the color and the numbers she came from a lake outside Rochester, NY.
