Nice action photos
Can I ask a question about MPE since I don't own one? The working distance - does MPE retract internally when moving from 1:1 to 5:1 to keep the working distance (ie front of lens construction to subject) relatively similar?
Reason I ask is lighting - I have various setups that can do extreme macro reproduction ratio zooming, but a stickup with all of them is that the working distance changes. Which means that the beautiful diffusion that works perfectly for 1:1 doesn't "fit" 5:1 (ie it's pointed at the wrong working distance) Thanks!

yes at 1-1 its a short lens but at 5-1 its about 11" long, so you have to adjust your lighting before you shoot.i can shoot up to 3-1 with the flash mounted on the top of the camera, but have to use a flash bracket after that.
Ahh, got it. Thanks, appreciated

Actually, I believe the answer here is NO. The lens extends considerably longer at 5:1 than 1:1, and the Working Distance decreases as well.
Canon MP-E 60-mm macro lens: 5:1 on left; 1:1 on right.
Excellent as usual
