My mother once told me to go through the family picture album and take the pictures I wanted, a blessing in disguise!
Over half of them were pictures of me in embarrassing situations, all of them available to any public figure that wanted to see them.
My pants rarely fell down, but you can be sure there was a cheap Kodak handy when it did happen.
"Oh, look at Ray! Go get the camera!" was a stinging statement I hated to hear; always for something stupid I did or was a victim to.
Luckily, some years later, I ended up with a sister and brother that took over the job...they didn't like it either.
...as for my old embarrassments, they are part of the carbon elements now, and I no longer have to discuss the "humorous" aspects of these humiliations with other folks...who's pictures I never got to see.

Me, too. I hate wedding photos and I skip all the kids' photos. Just not interested.

I take pics of things that can't give opinions. That way , I only have to satisfy one person, (ME). Some kids are cute and fun to shoot, others are little A$$ holes and need to be shot or spanked or rocked to sleep. I keep enough rocks handy. Also, to many people look like freak shows with tats and holes all over them. I guess i am to old fashioned. Trees, old buildings, old tractors, etc. have more class.

I like taking pictures of the grand kids. My daughter in law recently paid some woman $250.00 to shoot family pictures of them. She is so pissed off at the quality. She told me the reason she paid the woman was because she had the knowledge of how to use her editing program and clean up the pictures so well. I have told them I will shoot the pics for them at no cost. Oh well, live and learn
