B&H will exchange it in a heartbeat. To speed things up, offer to buy a second one and let them credit you when the first one shows up.

When I had an issue with a new camera, they paid the shipping both directions. The do default to ground. Since I'm on the west coast, I asked for 2 day shipping and they quickly agreed.

Frankly, B&H is the safest place to buy a camera. They will not let you be disappointed!

Did you format the card in the camera?

Sounds like you need to exchange it. Bad luck. One last thing, I assume the write protect on the card is off.

Formatted the cards in the computer and per the suggestion from Nikon used a different brand of approved card. No luck. B and H w as very responsiveness but they are out stock and do nothing have an ETA on new stock. I will now have to decide on sending to Nikon for.repair or getting and refund and reordering very disappointing and feel like I looked under the tree at Christmas and f o and I.O.U.s

Don't feel that way. Every manufacture of any product turn's out a bad product now and them. I'm guessing this is a new camera and still under warrante so Nikon will probably fix it for free.

I would not send it for repair. I would get my money back from B&H and buy another one. Amazon is out of stock too (I'd buy from Amazon direct rather than from one of their vendors). Maybe by the time they are in stock at B and H or Amazon the price will drop, or they will have better QC.

I agree I am sending it back for a refund. Adorama has or had them in stock and I ordered one. B & H was unable to give an estimate of when they would get them in stock
But the B&H customer service was superb, Nikon not so much which is too bad. The guy I talked to bat Nikon was pleasant but certainly no camera expert.

Just to let you know ... I got my P600 and formatted a new card and everything works fine. I also used another card that was formatted with a Nikon 5100 and it works fine. I would make sure you formatted it correctly and call Customer Support if problems persist.

I received the P 900 for which I was eagerly waiting today and have been unable to use it. I charged the battery inserted the memory card, a brand new 32 GB SanDisk,formatted it, took 3 pictures and got a This Card Could Not Be Read message. The display was frozen so I could not reformat. Shut camera down, removed card and replaced with another card , same thing happened again and again.
I am waiting impatiently for when B and H and or Nikon Customer service opens up. Has anyone else had this problem with this camera or any idea on what is going on? Is it me or the camera?

Some cameras can not read cards above 16GB.

I put a 64 GB Ultra 10 card in my P900, formatted it, and it works fine. Also put a preformatted "miniature card" on a converter card into it and it worked fine also. Let's me pull the card and put it into my Surface 3 computer. Not having any problems with the P900 except it is difficult to focus close up, but I probably just need to work with it.

Download the P900 manual (which is much, much more complete than what comes with the unit) and read the section on compatible SD cards.

Don't let this unit "break your heart", it is really an awesome camera.

Good luck with your replacement camera.

I thought about saying Get a Canon but decided not to. That would be mean. ;-}
