What do you do with your images in the meantime? Is there any indication that Adobe is working on this? It's too bad Nikon can't release the necessary information to Adobe prior to releasing the camera.

Give them about 30 days and Camera Raw will be updated in Beta. You have to download it from the adobelabs.com site. LR will take a bit longer based on past experience.

I've just upgraded (eight days ago!) from D200 to D7100 & love it already. There didn't seem anything relevant extra to justify the extra cost of D7200. Wife has a D90 which I have used a lot so am familiar with that camera. Go for D7100.

Hello;
My D90 LED failed a few months ago and I struggled with a decision regarding a 5300 or a 7100. I chose the 5300 because of the substantially less weight with the same picture quality. (The best camera is the one you carry with you.)

Hi all, I upgraded from the D90 to a D610 and love it. It is not too much larger than the D90 and the learning curve was not too steep.

I went from th D 90 to a D 7000, D 600 replaced with a D610. Now I am also shooting a Fuji XT1. Funny how it goes.

The 610's I own are my 2 workhorses, they are not to big and really comfortable to work with.

Except for the Fuji, that's me. I use a Sony RX100 III when I want a compact.

My 2 cents--- I kept my D90 when I moved to the D800E. Currently my D800E is in the shop for repairs by Nikon and I shot the D90 last weekend and enjoyed it very much. I am glad I kept it. I agree with the advice given previously about investing in FX glass. I use the 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 which was the kit lens on the D610 as the walk around lens on the D90 and it is a big improvement over my DX lenses.

You're not a real photographer if you don't have at least one backup camera. :D

I have a Nikon D90 and would like to upgrade to a newer Nikon dslr FX or DX
Any suggestions?

Been there exactly where you are and that was last Dec.
So I decided on the newer D750 FF of course. It has a great pixel size and many times seems too big so I cannot see going with the D800 series. The D600 series was not enough for me. Remember you get what you pay for. And the D750 seems to be the best compromise of all worlds at least to me. There is huge learning curve even though have the D90 was a great start. The D750 offers so much more.

I recently went from a D90 to a D810. No regrets. The quality and croping advantages of the D810 are far superior to the D90. I use some of my Dx lens on the 810 until I can save to purchase quality FX glass.

I made the same decision to down-size soon after the D5300 came out. I passed on the D90 to our son. No regrets. My Sigma lenses had to have their firmware updated to work with the D5300. The articulated display screen is very useful. The GPS works OK outside, but I was disappointed that it does not have a compass like our S9300. But the D5500 that was just announced doesn't even have GPS; however it has a touch screen...catching up with Canon.

I went from a D300 (which I still have) to a D7100 (was waiting for a never to be produced D400)... I stayed with DX format as I shot a lot of macro & nature & this format works well for that. I still have many lenses from film days, thus I have mostly FX format lenses. The few DX format lenses I own are to mainly cover wide angle shots that suffer from the crop sensor factor... The D7100 or D7200 are the top of the line in the DX format should you go that route. Either one will also meter & shoot older manual focus lenses (which your D90 wouldn't meter with)... I utilize any number of older lenses on my cameras. saves me lots of money over current AF technology lenses...

Still have my D90.... love it but have added a D7000.... a very good combination.... All my D90 accesories with the exception of batteries work together. Cables for my tethering and also remote control work on both...
Shooting partner went from a D80 to a D7100 and is also very happy....
I am thinking about the 7200 maybe santa will be good to me

Look at the D7100. A great camera, and noew that the 7200 is out, great deals. The upgrades on the 7200 are relatively minor and of no concern to me. You can also look to the 5200 or 5300, and save even more.

5200 & 5300 are base models with less features. Only lenses with built in focus motors will AF with them. The older (& less expensive) AF lenses won't AF on those models. It is true that prices have come down on the D7100 since a newer model has been released...The difference between the D7100 & D7200 aren't exactly minor, but it really depends on what you shoot as to whether or not it makes sense to get it...

That depends on how much your willing to spend.

maybe as much as a newer. than a D90. fx or dx cost would cost $1100 to
$2300 I would think . that's if you want the top dx like the d90 was and a
ff used or new
