Interesting plane. It will be interesting to see if it ever gets into production and how it will perform in battle.

Nice one Brian.

Looking at the cross sectional frontal view, the huge intake ducts are very hard to disguise, It also has huge exhaust cans that don't appear to possess thrust vectoring. They also have a huge heat signature. Good basic design but needs a lot of work to really be stealthy.

Me too, those leading edge wing slats are huge. That'll give the aircraft a huge advantage at slower, close-in gun combat. That aircraft looks like it can turn on a dime without bleeding off too much energy. That's the key element in one on one close-in combat, not bleeding off too much energy so that one can accelerate either to disengage or chase after ones adversary to finalize the "kill".

I wonder if it will ever make it into production given the Russians history of invention and lack of follow through. Maybe this time it will be different.

My GOD, I hope not. Every time you see a Russian flight demonstration it always shows these fantastic flight maneuvers. Unfortunately those are not used in actual combat. All you're trying to do is score a kill on your opponent before he scores one on you.

I know. BUT, the Russian coalition air forces are extremely micro managed. Their pilots have to get permission to take a good healthy.
I hope that never changes.

Still it should be giving some thought to those in charge of our air power.

That's a fact Marc. Hopefully there is something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

Guys,

I'm afraid that we all know who is leading the destruction of our armed forces.
