The arguments go round and round, but those old LP's had better sound than most early CD's. Better 'air' in the music, altho you had to deal with hiss and scratches, which CD's eliminated. The newer CD's with higher sampling rates sound much better, but hard to beat the audio quality of vinyl.

Mine were given away to a local library, along with all the 45s I collected as a kid. Even had some old 78s my parents listened to on an old crank-it-up Victrola. Used to play with them as a kid. Old Rudy Vallee stuff from the thirties, etc. Horrible sound, but a fond memory now, lol.

Great music to be sure ... just a few years before my time though :-)
First album I actually bought with my own money was Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles.

Brilliant covers, all so colourful and works of art in them selves. A friend of mine , John Pasche, designed many covers for people like David Bowie and he designed the tongue for the Rolling Stones.

Thanks for you input,

Geoff

Well these aren't LP's...but these are my most cherished albums. These are all the Albums, VHS tapes and DVD's my wife sang on when she was a member of Christ Church Choir here in Nashville. A few of them were recorded and video taped at the Grand Ole Opry House. The music on all of these in simply amazing and was a big part of her life.
