Mossie is on my left hand, while I'm taking the shot with my right. Resting the tip of the lens on the back of my left hand to stabilize.
Canon 5D camera with MP-E 65 macro lens (at about 3:1) + speedlight.
Bigger version if anyone wants a look, but haven't done any processing on it.

Both shots are great especially on download! Perfect focus on the eyes. That camera hardly moved between shots. You make a darn good tripod! I've got to ask though....after suffering for art's sake, did you slap the little bugger?
