There is still plenty of ice in the St. Clair River, but the US and Canadian Coast Guards have been working hard to get rid of it. The St. Clair River is part of the connecting waterway between Lake Huron and Lake Erie. That is Canada in the background in the first shot and Russell Island, MI in the second one.
These shots were taken with my new Nikon Df with a AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR lens. Settings were ISO 200, 1/1250, f/7.1 @ 65mm on the first one and ISO 200, 1/1000, f/7.1 @ 70mm for the second one. The third shot was at ISO 200, 1/1000, f/7.1 @ 55mm.
These are some of the first shots I have taken with the Df and the very first shots with the lens. They are also the first shots I have posted on the UHH. Hope you like them.

I've seen a couple of them on the Hudson. That's quite a job. Nice shot.

Nice Pic's, dude on starboard aft missing his headgear.
I'm really happy with the Df and the lens. Both are refurbs that nobody could tell from new. I bought the camera at B&H and the lens at Adorama.
Nice shots Don but to damn cold for me.

Hey, it's starting to get into the 50's. A week or so ago it was below 0. A few more weeks and we will be jigging for walleye right where that cutter is breaking ice.

Thanks. I'm glad you all liked the shots. I'm having a lot of fun with this Df.
