This was very interesting. I watched the facial and emotional reactions of the man who crash landed the plane. That was the best part. Knowing he had never seen the footage before made it interesting to watch how he reacted to it.

It sure was. Quite touching. :-D

This was fascinating! Thank you so much for posting it.

I often wonder about all the photos I have in my own collection. Some family photos go back nearly 100 years. What images other people would find fascinating in the background of these photos. Old street scenes, neighborhoods that no longer exist, people that were captured in photos inadvertently that I don't even know.

My pleasure. If you have old interesting photos you should try scanning them into your computer and share them with UHH members, family members et al. :-D

Thanks, BC.

I had a friend who told me flying sergeants were a myth. This guy had guts. Do I want to fly one? There is the urge, but those days are long past. I'm forwarding to my buddy Jim who's a bit younger.

Also that generation is going. My dad and my three uncles are all gone.

Yup the greatest generation is fading away. So sad that our younger generation is neither aware nor really cares for that part of our history. :(

I really enjoyed the Spitfire video bchery, thanks for posting that. i worked with
a former Spitfire pilot who became a golfing buddy and great friend. he never talked about the war, he got shot down over the Atlantic, and was picked up. he did tell me the Mustang with the Rolls Royce engine was a great plane to fly, and we went through a dogfight at a bar after several beers- he was back there-in the air-in his Spitfire. he has passed, and I miss him- great guy!

Thank you for that. It's amazing that after all the years he finally got to see the film and meet the relatives.
