Spent the day in Yellowstone looking for winter wildlife shots. The weather wasn't very winter like, so focused on portraits instead. A small band of bighorns were very cooperative.

Very nice! #1 I like especially because of the way the horn points to the eye.

So lucky to be able to photograph these animals. Love the way the horn frames the eye in the 3rd photo. Where in Yellowstone? We plan to go in the spring.

I actually found these guys just across the Yellowstone on my way to the Lamar.

You don't often have an opportunity to get this close, so I was particularly lucky this day. The Bighorns are all in the northern part of the park, and these were near the Yellowstone on my way to the Lamar. Sheep are often seen in this particular area, but the rams usually move to higher ground as the weather warms.

I never understood why these animals do not get concussions during their head butting contests.
