For that kind of money that camera better be sleeping with you. The 99% are all thoroughly impressed.
I think I will order 3. Pocket change!

They must think that anyone able to buy this won't question why they are being gouged on the shipping. Priory mail in the U.S. is well over $400.00.
I think they either use FEDEX or UPS so someone has to sign for receipt of anything of real value.
I know I wouldn't trust the US mail for something this expensive. I barely trust them with junk mail. And half the time, I'm in some far off location doing shoots.

I seen in one of the other posts somewhere here that a few people were buying gismos that attached the camera to the front of their body to carry their camera and lens...
I thought I would try this strap and I love it. Just got it yesterday...
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/661579-REG/BlackRapid_RS7_1BB_RS_7_Camera_Strap.htmlI connected it to my EF 400mm F/2.8L IS II lens and handles the load just fine... I highly recommend this strap for those of you getting neck strain from heavy units..

I've gotten used to a "SteadyCam" shoulder harness set up. I think they used the same rig for the recent D800 demo shoot from Nikon that was posted here. It not only supports the camera, but also has full motion in all axes.
And regarding a CPU for photo work on a desk top PC, I think you may find that the 6 and 8 core AMD CPU's recently released, will do fine for processing speeds and large files. The nVidea bridge controller and a good video card should do you fine as long as it has 2Gig or more local memory on the card so your motherboard memory isn't used. Sounds like this baby is going to make for some huge photo files too so I hope you planned on another external hard drive of about 1.5 Terabytes.
And I loved the discount on the memory chips for the camera. LOL. For $40k, they should deliver it in person and give you a complete tour of the system. LOL. I know,,,,,,wishful thinking.
WOW.........be sure to post some pics. What kind of photography will you be using it for?

Geez, you must have some deep pockets, or you only keep Krugerrands in your pockets as pocket change. LOL.

Do your canon lens work on it or will you need to buy more than the one you get with the camera ?
There goes that new Cadilac.
There is no camera in the world worth this much money!

Worked very hard to get to the level I shoot on.
Just got a big contract that will pay for this many times over....
I will still keep all my Canon bodies, won't always need an 80 mg photo. I have quite a few Canon lens that are wounderful...

And did you catch the price of the Sandisk 64mb card it uses - $379.00! The card is more than the price of most cameras. Maybe I can build a yacht cheaper than Mamiya can build a camera! Thanks for sharing.
Congrats Designpro on your new toy. I hope you enjoy it...oh and the shipping is soooo expensive because of the insurance...Something that expensive is bound to be insured during shipping.
