Patience is the hardest part! Where and when were these photos taken?

In the last couple years I became intrigued with the idea of catching insects in flight. Once I got my first semi decent shots I was hooked. Still more work to do but heres a few Ive captured. Bob

Bob the shots of the bees are great but I'm very impressed with the shots of the Wandering Gliders. I know how hard flight pictures are of dragons. I shoot with some of the best dragon hunters and they say that you need to decide that today is going to be flight shots, study their flight paths for a time get set up and then shoot. I'm still looking for what I consider a great flight shot among the many I've take.
Thanks for posting.

Yes if you watch them (dragonflies) they will dart about and for a split second hover in a certain area. If your lucky they will repeat this pattern for a bit. I'll prefocus the distance I think they will be when they momentarily hover. Get one shot at it then repeat if they hang around. Bob

Very well done, not easy to get that close and capture a bug in flight.

Yes, I have done a few, so I can appreciate how many different shots you have here.

I remember distinctly the first bif(bee in flight) I captured that was decent. I can't find it as my work flow skills are horrible. After that one I was hooked. Im looking forward to spring with my new Sigma 70mm macro. :) Bob
