well those of you that have asked me to keep you informed this Is where we are at
received 7d2 and tamron back from tamron on Friday
went out and did some test shots of birds set as tamron had set the camera and lens no improvement except lens seemed a little faster
tried fine focus adjustment with FoCal lens calibration software , it had a really hard time and after running 10 tests not one was the same but most were over -10 to -14 so tried -13 and went out again , no difference at all
then tamron ask me to try my other bodies
5d3 mark 3 slight improvement but still out 7d about the same no good ( never has been )
6d good as always photos in focus
so now its off to Adelaide 300 km trip to try a new tamron on my 7d2 at tamrons request

one thing I did notice having all bodies out at the same time is very strange the only camera to get focus spot on the 6d when looking through view finder the shots look out of focus but are in , got home put on the sigma 150-500 and all looked good in view finder

all other bodies looked great in viewfinder but are out of focus how strange is that
any way will let you all know how I get on in Adelaide with new lens

Good luck and have a good trip to Adelaide. I know what it is like living so far from a Capital.

Gawler,
You have the patience of Job.

I believe I would have bought a Nikon by now.
Oh wait... I did already.

rear focus , single spot as always , tamron have had the 7d2 and the lens , they tested the camera all good found some issues with the lens which they corrected
did some test photos of magpie in stubble if it was a forward or rear focus issue you can see it this way but its focusing in the right area just not in focus , been going backwards and forwards with tamron for couple of months now . will give them 10 out of 10 for effort

Maybe try front focus?

Also, I did not ask the right question, I think. I am new to all this tech, but what I meant was the focal points in the view finder. Some time I will think I am focasing on one portion of the scene and my camera is focasing someplace else.

I broke my own rule SonnyE , I purchased a lens made in china said I would never do that lol
its back to Japanese lens for me , cant afford canon 500's but will get me a sigma 150-600 once all this is out the way and I can sell it , but it needs to be working correctly even to sell, as I could not sell it to some poor bugger at the moment lol
and before you all tell me how good the tamron is if I used it only on my 6d I would agree great lens

yes mate I understand , for birding I only use one the center one so the camera has no choice but to focus on what I say lol and I use rear button focus so it does not go out of focus when I push the shot button

You don't need to be told that.
Just sell it as,
"Tamron Lens, Canon mount, works great on a Canon 6D. Selling due to stress disorder."

No harm, no foul. ;)

B&H here in the States just put out an email today that the Sigma Contemporary is pre-orderable for a projected March 20th shipping.
$1089.00 + shipping.

So that is in the wings, Mate.
:-D
