Great pictures! #2 is my favorite for mood, but I am greatly intrigued by the last one in its symmetry.

I visited it in summer 25 years ago and loved it. Two of my nephews were with me and it became the source of a longstanding family story.

Thanks very much lateron, Leeds castle is pretty much intact where as Bodium, as you see by this picture, is still a bit of a mess inside the walls.
Thanks again for your feedback,

Geoff

How lucky you are to live in a country that has such a rich history with so very many castles and grand estates. A photographer's paradise.

Cheers Doc, I think we woke up to about 100 years ago and started preserving these great sites, and the do make for a great day out, We have a castle at the end of our lane that has history going back 2000 years, it really blows your mind sometimes.

Thanks again for your feedback,

Geoff

Geoff you did a great job in capturing the beauty of this structure. When I visit friends in Scotland I am totally amazed by how much is preserved. I wish we preserved more of our history. I wish we had things this old to preserve! Wonderful set.

Bodium Castle always has a good photo about it, but on a cold early morning in February when the light is flat the old castle has a sinister creepy feel that takes hold of the old walls, and the atmosphere in the air takes you back across the centuries to another time.

Superb, fantastic, images would fit a renaissance novel.
