This Ring-billed Gull was taken with a Canon 7D MkII and a 400mm, f/5.6 'L' lens. In the original, the sky was a flat blue. I substituted an evening red sky to enhance the subject.

An absolutely awesome image,Joe! You made a gull look strikingly beautiful, almost pleasant. But your choice in sky is perfect. Those analogous hues as a backdrop for the white/gray bird is stunning.

Thank you Carla. A monochromatic sky didn't work well. Technically the gull came out well and I wanted to enhance it by using what I did.
