Long story short . ...
There was a huge fire at Boston Pizza that took out blockbuster as well .. There where several firefighters . RCMP ( canadian cops) and lots of people around to watch I was one of several photographers there and i got this photo when one of the firemen was sitting down ...

To me the position he was sitting his body language just speaks to me .. Its hard to explain but im curious if it " speaks" to anyone else ..

This is one of my most favorite photos The last two photos where taking from the same fire

Looks like someone you don't want sitting down on the job, doing just that.

If you've ever dressed out in bunker gear and had to fight a fire you'll understand the need to take a break.

I agree with chriselizondo. My dad did it for 12 years, brother still does it. I have even had gear on before when I was younger to see what it was like while doing some drills and it isn't easy in the warmer weather or even like shown above. What the firefighter is doing is considered REHAB. It is where the personnel are required to take rotate crews and take breaks to prevent things like cardiac problems or any other problems. I love the photos you got as they speak volumes to me. You got some great photos. Keep up the nice work.

Thanks guys :) I love these photos . It was a very very HOT day also And those men that went and attended to the fire i give alot of credit to I am very very thankful for them . There was a girl who was niece of one of the firefighters and she was putting together a slide show for all of them for some function and contacted me and asked if she could use the photos of them in the slide show . I was so happy and honored and of course i said yes . As well to me the photo of him speaks volumes And i am very glad he took a rest they where there for quiet a while dealing with that fire . I cant wait to get more of them in action showing them risking their lives to save not just lives of people and animals but to save buildings and businesses its a hard job and someones gotta do it and they deserve A LOT of credit for what they do ! :) And your very welcome i love sharing my work :) and i love the positive feedback that i get from a lot of people

Those are the most awesome shots I have ever seen. They speak volumes of the whole scene and what people are thinking. You did an excellent job and are to be commended for these shots. Treasure them !!!!

The first shot looks like a tired fireman who has fought a long battle, this is what I thought before I saw any of the other pics. The second shot is very powerful and moving.

Firefighting can be very hard and physically demanding work. It is better for firefighters to rotate and take breaks to recuperate, especially on a large fire like this one, than to push themselves too hard and collapse from exhaustion, or worse, and not be able to return to the battle.

Great shots.

But unless you are doing photojournalism I'd clone out the power lines.

I could not agree more. It takes a special kind of person (strong mind & body) to walk into a building that is on fire and to resist the natural instinct to run out. I am grateful to every fireman out there, their job is very difficult on many levels.

One question here. If it was so HOT that day, why is the bystander wearing a jacket?
