These are more examples of your masterful work Geoff, well shot and well composed. The atmosphere adds to the mood of the place in its state of disrepair. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks madman, Many of these old building and castles suffered years of neglect over the centuries and in some cases were demolished and the stones used for other buildings, but in the last hundred years or so charities such as The NationTrust, The national Trust for Scotland and English Heritage maintain them in the state the took them over in. The better mating Castles and Country Mansions have usually been bequeathed to the trusts in very good order with the contents and furnishing intact which are again maintained to the period in which they represent. The gardens are always brought bak to a magnificent state are are kept that way along with hundreds of miles of coast line and outstanding land areas in Britain, and most of the for is carried out buy volunteers,
Thanks again for your feedback,
Geoff
that those old building are maintained as a ruin

Beautiful photos.
It does seem strange that the gardens are so perfectly kept while the castle itself is in such disrepair.
Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely place! Beautifully taken shots Geoff!!
Hi BIPSTER, Ive never though of them being like Thomas Kinkade but now you mention it there could be a resemblance to some of his Victorian work,
Thanks for your feedback and its a pleasure to share them,
Geoff

WOW Thank you for sharing, both the shots and the history. They are all beautiful and I hate to favor one over the other, but I am so drawn to # 3.Makes me think of a Thomas Kinkade painting.
My pleasure Vicki, and thanks very much for your kind feedback, its much appreciated,
