Of course, you disturb more electrons that way. Fortunately, they don't seem to mind too much. :D :D

what is your camers focusing on the moon or the branches?

I had my aperture set @ 4.6 (I believe)
and was focusing on both. Now that you ask, I should have used my DOF button to make sure that the moon was in focus. Never thought of that. Without the DOF preview, the
moon was in focus. That may be my problem.

Me too. Nice to know someone with a great sense of humor!
I try not to take myself too seriously either.

Hope it's as simple.

In a long career in technical trouble shooting I have learned that in most cases the simple solution is the one that solves the problem IE "is it plugged in and turned on"

Actually the moon's lack of atmosphere doesn't make a difference because the light still has to get through ours to reach our cameras.

For purposes of taking a picture, the surface of the moon is the equivalent of a city sidewalk at noon, maybe a bit brighter because of there being no atmosphere.

The end result, while visually pleasing, is actually manufactured.

Twice the atmosphere (moon and earth) would make a small difference.

So look at this picture of a squirrel I took.

It's real. (By those same standards)

What is "real", the picture or the squirrel? Make your case for either.

David--

You have been had. Sonny does not buy into the criteria and that is the point.

From my Shakespearean training, I recognize the "fool" who gets the better of both protagonist and antagonist--to wit the mad disguise of Hamlet.
