OK I didn't spend enough time trying BBF. I did set it up but since I did practices enough how do I unset it. My photos are not sharp and I need to shoot this afternoon.

It would help if we knew what camera you are using.

I'm a Nikon shooter. I'm sure a Canon person will be along shortly to help you out.

Help
Using Canon 7D
Activating back-button AF
Back-button AF is engaged by setting the appropriate Custom Function in your EOS camera. Remember, to use any Custom Function, your camera must first be in one of the creative zone exposure modes P (Program auto exposure), Av (aperture-priority mode), Tv (shutter-priority mode), or M (manual exposure mode). Custom Functions are totally locked-out if youre in the full-auto green zone, or a picture-icon setting like the Portrait mode or Landscape mode.
EOS 7D: C.Fn IV-1 (Custom Controls Shutter, AF-ON, AEL buttons)
Hope this helps
Watch this Tony Northrup video. I started BBF last year and will never go back. It might be your technique. Also, your camera must have a setting to take all settings back to the factory default settings.

You should be able to find that in your manual.

You can always go back to factory settings but 1/2 shutter press will probably still work even if you are using BBF. I use bbf on my7d all the time but 1/2 shutter press still works.

Uh, do you have a camera manual?

If your BB is set for AF/Start, then your shutter button will not activate AF. Otherwise it will defeat purpose of putting it on the BB.

Doesn't work that way on my 7d. When I have AF-ON set up for BBF the 1/2 shutter press will still focus. There is no way to shut 1/2 press off. I just tried 1/2 sitll works no matter what I do.
