Beware of Kids in Texas.

Man, even little kids in Texas can be dangerous. Fortunately, school officials were quick to respond, and suspended the boy. This four-year-old was going to use his magic ring to make classmates disappear. Don't you have to be at least six to buy a magic ring?

This story even made the news in the UK. Here it was reported that the school was called Kermit Elementary and the the report ended 'It is not known if the boy is actualy in possession on the one ring'.
Whilst our ending was a joke surely the school isn't named after a frog? However thinking about it the head teacher must be complete Muppet with the common sense of a stuffed toy.

Yes, it is really named "Kermit," although that might be the name of a generous donor. I wonder what the school logo is.

What was the date? Mark that date as the beginning of the death of imagination.

In our day we might have threatened to pull a Billy Mumy on the teachers and send them to the corn field.

There are times when educated people are not very bright. This would be one of those times.

"Zero Tolerance" and "Better Safe Than Sorry" are two ridiculous slogans used to justify any form of stupidity.

I'd be concerned about where he got that magic ring. :D

Unbelievable! If a bunch of kids today ever decided to play Red Rover, Red Rover at recess they'd probably be expelled & brought up on charges of assault and battery. Sad, really sad, that kids today will never know the freedom to be kids that we experienced growing up. :-(

No kiddin'. My elementary school was right across the street from the foundry of Pontiac Motors. We grew up tough, with a lot of kids the sons of factory workers. We played a version of Red Rover called Buck Buck. Rough and tough, but it got all the aggression out of us before we headed back to class.

I sometimes wonder if more recess time and allowing the kids to run around and get the kinks out wouldn't be preferable to dosing them with Ritalin?
