Drove up to Fernandina for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. It was a beautiful day and the lawn was filled with some great cars. These pictures are more for documentation than Salon photographs, but I thought some of the car buffs in this forum would be interested. If there is some interest I'll post a few more. ........ It would be great to see more photos with captions of what year and model they are.

Sounds like there's enough interest to warrent a few more posts. I'll keep adding a few at a time till the interest dries up. I wasn't able to get a list of partisipants so I can't give you much more than some very basic brand info and even that could be incorrect so for the time being I'll leave the descriptions blank. I may be able to do some research on a few of them and I'll repost the photos with the info at that time. ........ Coot

Some of the entrants dress in period appropriate attire. I knew I had to take this shot as son as I saw him.

I used to think I might someday go to the Pebble Beach, but after talking to a friend that lives there I've changed my mind. He says finding accommodations for that week is impossible, the prices are outrageous and the traffic is horrible. I can meet many of the same people and see many of the same cars at Amelia and drop less than a hundred bucks for the day. I had hoped to see some people we have lost track of since the days when we were active in SCCA And IMSA Racing, but I never saw a soul. I guess most of my generation has passed on. ....... Coot

Well, there were only a couple of replies to my last post. I guess I should have said something about "OLD CARS" in the thread title. That always seems to get several pages of response. Here are a few more, they will be the last ones if unless there is an increase in interest. ......... Coot

This is a 1956 Porsche Speedster. At one time I owned a 1959 Porsche Coupe. We won the Poesche Club of America Concours d'Elegance at Daytona with it in 1960.

Thanks for the extras, Coot. Guess you miss your Porsche. I once turned-down an offer of an even-trade of a 356B for a Morgan +4. Should have gone for it instead of the deal I eventually did.
