Craig invited me to join this topic area and post some shots. So I poked around at some of your all's shots. I think I will go crawl under my rock you guys are fantastic at this. So I thought I would give you a good laugh and show you my moon shot tonight.

D750 28-300 MM Zoom at 300MM, f13, 1/400 sec, ASA-400

PJ, Nothing to laugh at, probably needs some post processing and cropping. Gary

I agree with GWong, nothing to laugh at here.
You might try a slightly lower ISO and a bit more open aperture. That will help clean up any noise you may be seeing. Also if you have a decent tripod by all means try using it as well. I usually either use a 2 second delay on the shutter or a manual release. Both let the camera become more stable before shooting the photo.
Clear skies...

Hum, I will try your suggestions, I did not think of a tripod as I was shooting at such a fast speed, but lowering the ASA should help that a bit. Thanks! If we get another opportunity tonight I might try all of your suggestions and see what shakes out.

For a 300 mm lens, that isn't bad at all!

PJ this is a good start. Much better than the first moon shoots I took 8 months ago when I started. Just listen to these guys they have helped me. We all help each other. Any questions please ask.
Stick with us you're addicted now.

No doubt this is addicting, and I appreciate all the help. I have learned so much over time, and I am ready to start learning more. I hope some day I can repay the favor! Thanks.
