That may be a valid position, but is it worth pursuing in this thread?
Is there any further point? Is this the right place?
Nothing further. The thread was about TSA, x-rays, cards and film. Don't x-ray your film, don't worry about the cards and don't trust the government. End.

I went through Munich apt. late last October and there if every piece of your electronic gear did not work/activate you DID NOT pass. For the cameras you had to turn it on, security would pass their hand in front of the lens, and if no image of that hand on the LCD you did not go.

That is a good point. It can be asked, so make sure your batteries are not exhausted!

The scan has never affected my memory card(s). The only hassle I have had going through security with my camera bag occurred in Beijing Airport. I know this was not TSA. The security officer saw a BiC lighter in the bag and confiscated it.
Beijing's version of TSA are hard core. No smiles, no "Welcome to China", all business. I do not know how they did it, but they managed to make my wallet $60 US lighter by the time they were done screening it.

Planning to travel to Sedona and Grand Canyon in May. Haven't carried my camera equipment on an airplane in years. What can I expect from the TSA inspectors in terms of going through my bag? Can I send the memory card through the x-ray?
I made a similar trip last June. I used a 22" roller case as a carry-on. It contained a DSLR, 4 lenses, tripod, Lowe-Pro shoulder case, two flashes, a softbox, loose batteries, a wireless shutter system, assorted HDMI, iTTL, USB and shutter cables. No problem with TSA. My laptop bag however was hand instpected. Go figure.
