The last visit to the orchard nursery we found some different, odd but beautifully colored orchards. There many
varieties of orchards that the nursery has it is difficult for my wife to pick what to add to her collection.I just go along to take photos and am all ways fascinated at the new variety they have at each visit to this large orchard nursery.

The first image looks like a fancy Vandeae orchid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vandeae
Second and third are cymbidium orchids: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cymbidium

For my own sanity, I have learned to photograph the name tag associated with each flower genus, immediately after photographing the flower.

For my sanity, I quit looking for the name tags when photographing wildflowers!

An orchard is a fruit growing place. Orchids are flowers. They are not synonomus

Oh, I know that difference quite well, boberic, considering that several of my relatives have huge apple orchards in The Netherlands.

My husband will sometimes give me a cattleya orchid for our anniversary.

However, if you read the message I responded to by SonnyE, you'll see that I was not referring to fruits or flowers...

These are nursery-labeled hybrids, NOT wildflowers.

Angry Orchard makes some quite decent hard cider - especially the dry variety.

I wonder what an Angry Orchid would be like?
