Experimenting with an oil painting filter. Suggestions welcome.
"On Hedrick Pond"
Not familiar with that type of filter. I'll have to check it out. I liked the photo, I would have the foreground with a little more detail, lighter. However, that may not have been possible with the filter you were using.
How did you come up with the title for the picture?
AzGriZ, The little pond in the photo is Hedrick Pond.
My question should have been, "How did you come up with the name?" Is the name an official name or is it something you came up with? "Hedrick" is not that common of a name.
Thanks

I have lived in this area all my life and have always known this to be called Hedrick Pond. I have attached a jpg. of the topo map that shows this.
This is a link to some park history that says Charlie Hedrick homesteaded in this area in 1908. I would assume it is named after him:

It's very pretty, would like to see what it looks like just a tad lighter.
Oh my stars! Beautiful...Hedrick is my maiden name!!! Wonder if there's a long lost relative out there somewhere!!!! Lots of Hedrick's here in NC, especially in Lexington/Davidson area...daddy's family came from there many moons ago to Caldwell County NC!!! Never know where a relative might turn up! I'll have to investigate!
It's still my last name and it will never change. Family of brothers came over from Germany many years ago.
AzGriz and cday, let me know when you are coming to Wyoming and I'll show you how to find your pond. We will try it a little earlier in the day and see if we can get more light on the foreground.
