Interested in wild horses? Here's a website that will keep you busy and entertained for a long while:
http://www.wildmustangs.com/#!rescue-stories/ckjo

These horses run free in hundreds of acres of virgin territory in the Black Hills of South Dakota, the horses cared for by a local rancher and his team who love wild horses.
You can donate to the wild mustangs as a herd, or donate to a certain horse you're attracted to, or the selected Horse-of-the-Month.

A website about a rancher who loved horses and, thus, started a Wild Mustang Sanctuary in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I've heard that they were being rounded up in another location because they were harming the soil.

This is an awesome place! We visited last May/June on vacation in South Dakota and took the personalized tour. Was well worth the money. The animals are beautiful and the history is vast and rich. Would highly recommend a visit.

SteveR - I haven't the inclination to further research this matter, but I certainly refute any argument that says wild horses seriously deplete the so-called "eco-system."
