I'd never heard of it until about 10 minutes ago but checked it out and looks phenomenal - good luck.

The video link includes comments by Michael Adams, Ansel's son.
Galen Rowell's work is highlighted by his son, Tony, as well.

Good luck.
Looks spectacular!

Thanks. I have yet to be lucky enough to catch it. But now that I live in California, I plan on going every year until I get it. The consolation is that you get to see Yosemite in winter when the park is uncrowded and serene.

Thanks. I'm very familiar with Yosemite and have been there for the event but foiled by clouds. Not giving up !

Luck to you, this year. I've been to Yosemite several times back in the sixties, but that was long before I became interested in photography. Hope you get some great shots.

When I was young they would build a bonfire up there by halfdome. After it was dark a bulldozer would push the fire over the side. It was quite a spectacle. This was back in the 50's.

For a few seconds I thought they had brought it back, then thought naw, it'll never happen. Good luck on your trip.

First post and all, hi everybody.

When I registered I just used my middle name, like I've done on other forums. Now I see members call themselves "hoggers" or the "hog farm". Guess I should be right at home here.

:D

Also, thanks for that link. Didn't know the firefall lasted until 1968.
