I want to shoot portraits of my customers and have them ready to show when we are finished shooting. Can I use LR for this? Does it have a presentation mode? Thanks in advance for ya'lls help.

Yes.

That is different than tethering though. If you camera supports tethering, that would be live input into LR.

You can also hand your clients an iPad with the LR Mobile app on it, and sync the library your shooting into - they can watch you in real time.

Yes. Connect your camera to your computer, launch LR and go to File>Tethered Capture> start tethered capture. A dialog box will open where you can name the session, name your files, select a location, add keywords, and apply any metadata presets. Any camera settings will show on your screen. When you take a picture, it will be displayed in LR.
Be aware that LR only supports certain cameras, mostly Nikon and Canon. My Fuji S5 is not supported.
Good luck!

Hi Philip,
Yes you can, you will use the data cable that comes with your camera and depending on its length, you can use a USB extension cable. From the FILE MENU, select TETHERED CAPTURE. suggest you goto HELP for MORE info.

You can do a slideshow http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/creating-slide-shows-basic-workflow.html

Or simply flip through them. One of the options in the View menu I beleive will allow to to darken the UI and just show the pictures if you're just flipping through.
