I felt this was one of the best of 42 pix of osprey in my backyard. Did I over sharpen?
The enlarged image shows the osprey and fish in perfect focus to my eyes. Great job!

Nice shot, I don't think that you sharpened it too much. I would have cropped the picture some to better bring attention to the breakfast itself. :D
I feel that cropping this photo a bit to remove the crooked line of the dock? at the top would help and focus more on the bird. A bit of water removed from the sides to tighten up the shot would help too I think. It isn't over-sharpened on my monitor and looks good. I like the way the water looks in this photo so I wouldn't remove too much, just a few gallons from the edges. :) :)
Viewing the download improves the photo, but to get the full effect clicking on the zoom really brings out the detail, excellent job .
Perhaps cropping the photo on the bird and less on the surroundings will result in almost a good of image as using the zoom.

I also think it is an excellent photograph but would definitely crop to bring out the main subject.

So, what is the story, oh! a pole with something on it... why do I need to see all that water and an old sea wall?? Crop the heck out of this image...8x10 horizontal. The birds wing pit is at 1/3 and 1/3 upper and to the right.... up contrast increase black and then the exposure is right on no white burn on feathers. With these minor adjustments this is a photo of a bird eating breakfast... that is the title you gave it and the story. Wonderful shot... great timing... obviously good equipment.
KROP FOR KOMPOSITION .... KROP FOR STORY
I goofed and did not sent my cropped version.

technically a great osprey shot, when you get close enough to see him and the fish. To me the scenery is in domination of the pic. He should dominate the pic and the scenery support it. Crop crop crop. By the end of today you'll have so much advise you won't know what to do Take another shot!! Neat looking osprey!!!! Robin
I agree with a lot of the comments here that a tighter crop is necessary to bring attention to what's really happening. If you had missed focus or the image were soft you probably couldn't crop much but neither is the case here so go for it!
