I have a HP Photosmart 7550 printer. I can use it on a Windows XP system, but don't have drivers for Windows 7. It's an inconvenience to reboot to the XP system whenever I need to print.

It seems to be a pretty good printer, but I don't have anything to compare it to. I've considered buying a Epson Expression Premium XP-820. A wireless photo printer, scanner, and copier for $150 plus tax is a bargain. Does it do a quality job?

With the priority on photo printing, does anyone have any other suggestions? Should I increase my budget?

I've got the Epson XP and really like it. Had the Canon for one day and couldn't get it to hook up wirelessly to my Mac without call an MIT specialist. The Epson does a very nice job with 8x10 stuff. Anything larger I send out.

Boy, they're still doing that? It used to be $400 with a $300 rebate. That's an amazing deal. The typical $100 printer is nothing to brag about.

Yes ! Don't buy an all in one machine; get a printer for printing you work only; you can't beat an epson, either an A4, or an A3; they are designed for just one purpose- printing the best possible image !

Go ahead and load the driver you have with the printer should work. I don't know about a Mac, I've had one for over a year and never use it. My PCs or WINDOWS XP, 7, and 8 I have 12 PCs and 4 laptops in house. And 23 printers costing from $35. to over $1,000. The printers I use every day.
Canon MG 6220 ink cost $15. all 6 colors.
HP office jet 7110 (large format) ink cost $20. all 4 colors
I like Epson printers for my photo booth business. Most printers will have great prints 3 or 4 ink changes. Then trash them buy a new one.
I've tried lot of photo paper but I use Red River best print on any printer you use. And yes I buy on EBAY over $5,000 a year have for 6 years. That's all the BS I have for today Good luck and have a merry.

Thanks to all responders. I agree that a single purpose printer is, in general a better choice. As per the suggestion and a great deal, and what looks like a great printer, I went with the Canon Pro 100 from B&H. It is a large step up from what I have now.

Just bought a Canon Pixma pro-100 from Atlex for $290 includes 50 sheet pack of paper and $250 rebate! Total cost $40. So far very impressed with 13 x 19 inch prints. Atlex did make a few mistakes on my order and wound up shipping an extra pack of 50 sheet paper and billing me for it, but I figured I'll need it anyway. Rebate has not come yet, but they said expect 6 weeks or so.

I got the same deal. I have two printers. The Canon PRO is used just for photographs. The Canon MG 7520 handles office and snapshots needs fairly well.

I used a similar deal from Adorama a few months ago; the rebate was a loaded AMEX card. A call to AMEX and a check for the amount was in my hands in a week or so. No muss, no fuss!

My experience has been the Canon is superior to the others. Epson is also ok, however keep hundreds of miles away from all HP products. Quality ok initially, but will not last very long due to sloppy assembly as well as extremely expensive ink.

I have been using an HP all-in-one printer for several years and have been happy with the photo print quality and I have been a photographer for several years... For print size up to 8x10 it has served me well... :)
