Shot with the 580 EX II on the top bracket with diffuser in place and the 430 EX II on the side bracket pointed in with a white commercial plastic diffuser.
Both photos are untouched and converted from Raw to JPG only.
Shooting through the heavy plastic of the coin mount made it interesting as well.
Those are really good. I can't believe you're using the same EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM I use. Of course mine is mounted on an EOS T2i. Good little starter camera.
You added something when I wasn't looking. I hate shooting through Plastic or Glass

Took me awhile to get the flash setup the way I wanted but I am pretty happy with this initial test set.
I need to figure out how to get the boxes in play but room is an issue on the bracket mounting..
Thank you very much for the compliment.
(Full frame really helped me with the 100mm.. the cropped didn't do nearly as well.) And yes I did..
These are beautifully done. I'm very impressed with your lighting. I've photographed shiny objects and I know how challenging this is

Thank you very much. I hope to work out the box issue later this week.
I like this lighting better than the previous Silver Eagle set. Nicely done...

Which set? The set that you asked for a reduction of the side lighting? I agree that this is better but not sure why.
Less obstruction of the light perhaps?
