No need for envy Brenda, we all have the enthusiasm for macro, hence our participation on the forum. Thank you for the kind comments.

It is a lot of gear but it all fits in my backpack and is fairly light weight now that I have the wooden tripod. You need to take the MP-E 65 to the field. It's an excellent lens for this purpose. Not sure I'll continue using it on the tripod now that I have the OM-D E-M1. Zuiko 60mm on u4/3 sensor is a good light weight combo for the rig.

I enjoy field macro immensely. Nothing like getting out in the field away from it all. Process and results are far from perfect but I’m going to enjoy working with this rig and improving my technique and results.
Great shots Bill and a wonderful narrative to go with them. Gives me more insight in how to work myself.

Glad you enjoyed them Craig and if you have any questions fire away. I have an updated picture of the rig I'll post in the next few days.

I'll start a new topic. Still finishing up a couple field stacks I did this past weekend. Been crazy busy and haven't had enough time to finish the processing. I added a Manfrotto magic arm and flash to the Tripod for even background fill. Also working with an Olympus MAL-1 (small flexible LED lights) for lifting subject shadows. Still a work in progress but I am making improvements.

Thanks Mike - not as impressive as your chip setup but it's more portable. I do enjoy using it, completely different than handheld.

Thank you Steve now go out and shoot some macro my friend. BTW I am really enjoying the E-M1, great little camera for macro and a lot of fun to use. Olympus has new software out called Olympus Capture. It's free and well worth a look-see if you want to shoot tethered.
