Today we went to a classic car show in Monroe, Ga. I went a little nuts there and took over 200 photos. Here are some of my favorites I attached your enjoyment. Comments on the cars and my picture taking skills (or lack there of) are welcome.

I like them all, although first one and last is my favorite.. I'm not going to coment on quality, better than I'm qualified to coment on..Thanks for sharing..

Not sure, I think it was a 396. I saw so many and many similar ones. The show was going to end soon, so I rushed through to try to see them all and get as many photos as possible.

The last one, if you look close is a '56 Bad Air. "Bad Air" is on the rear quarter panel and the dash.

Nice shots! Bet you had fun stepping back in time :-) I always find these type of shows a real challenge! It is always very sunny and hard to stop glare, etc., but then what is photography without a challenge! ;-) Might I suggest you work with the 2 white vehicles and the last picture. Try working with the brightness and contrast in a layers program and I think you will find you like how it brings out more detail in the white. That said, I truly like your shots!

I guess I like the '56 Chebby and the 2nd one (I don't know what it is, but I like the 'suicide doors).

Thanks for the suggestions, Clicker. As you said, the bright sun and dark shadows of that time of day, combined with the reflections from the bright paint are very challenging. I have edited these images slightly to get them where they are. Given my limited ability, it seems that if I try to go beyond this point, I do more harm then good. If you would like to enhance them further, by all means, be my guest. Please tell me what steps you take in doing so. I would love to learn the proper techniques. I have Photoshop Elements 10, Lightroom 3 and PS CS, which is a very old version.

if faithfully restored had to be a small block, 409 had the big dual snorkle air cleaners. 235 inline 6, 283 , 348 and 409's were available in 1960.

Then again I had a 350 Vega and I know of several 454 Vegas, you c an pretty much put anything in anything

The white car with suicide doors looks like a Ford Prefect or Anglia, English Ford. Favorite with early hotrodders

Hi Bruce. I'm no expert, but I never heard of the 348. How about the 327? Not sure what year that came out. I was thinking 396, but I may have confused that with another car I saw there. Probably the 396 is a slightly newer design.

Well sir, the 327 was first available in 1962.The 283 was bored a bit to 4 inches and the stroke was increased to 3.25 inches. The 348/409 shared the same block and head design ( the "W" Motor) Very distinctive valve covers and head design.
The "Big Block" Chevy began as a 366 inch truck engine and quickly grew to 396 (1965 corvette) then 427 cubic inches(1966)
In 1970 the 454 was born.
