Gold flake in Quartz

Great little coaster. The gold flake has been covered over with epoxy. The coaster is 2.5mm thick and cavity is 1.5mm.
I used 17 images at .07mm each in the stack via Zerene Stacker Pro. Topaz sharpened, reduced the glare and brought out the true color.
Canon T2i at ISO 100, w/ Canon 100mm Macro, 1/60 sec at f/2.8. Polaroid Universal 48 Macro LED Ring Flash set to low power.

Craig, the thing I really like about this photo is that you gave full details of the settings and programs. Too many share a photo and tell nothing of the technique and software used to achieve. Thank you.

I like the first stack the best. So the Polaroid ring appears to be working for you. Are you pleased with the results you are getting?

I can't be sure if it is dust or a flake that's the way I bought it.
Not sure either if it's natural to the rock or not. Shot from the back side of the coaster seems to show the gold embedded in the Quartz.
I am pleased with the Polaroid Ringflash. I has many different ways to adjust it. Levels from -1.5 to +1.5, flash from the right or left, light on for video or setting up your shot with the exact flash you'll be using. I does all that I would expect from a Ringflash. It doesn't replace a Softbox for what it's needed for. Both together gave me the under over lighting I wanted in the last stack. Of course I'm still the rank amateur in DSLR digital photography.
