Be Gentle. 19 images 1mm increments by the table. 1/100-sec at f/11, ISO 160, EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM.
Trimmed after alignment. 2nd image is 20 images with the same settings, but speedlight output boosted 2/3
Do you mean speedlight boosted 2/3 stop output? I do like the second exposure.
I like the 2nd as well but I'd like to be able to see John R Sinnock's initials.
;-)

A slight rotation of coin should solve the reflection problem.

Yes that is correct. Both were shot with the 6x8 box.

Or shift the box to a more side angle.

Thanks Craig. I think both stacks have merit. The first shot shows the patina a bit better.
These are good ASB, no focal bands that I can see.

Thank you. I didn't see any either. Just a few hot spots. Thank you for the advice.

I know exactly what you mean having shot a few coins.

I understand 'focal bands' what is ASB?
Like the first one shows the grain in the hair better. Second seems flat no texture in the hair. Great coin.
