Until fairly recently, I was the guy that loved taking pics but only had my iPhone and a Sony point-and-shoot to do it. I finally pulled the trigger last summer, moved up to a decent camera, and decided to move into the realm of the devoted amateur photographer.
I look forward to being inspired by the photos I see on here and would welcome critiques of my work (please be kind, I'm new). Thanks.

You have entered an addictive land of truths, myths, fantasies, ghosts, goblins and good old fashioned advice (whether you want it or not)...
Seriously though - the folks here have lots of good advice and a couple of days of experience and are willing share what they can - don't hesitate to ask detailed questions, in fact, the more details, the more accurate the answer ;)
A couple of links to help you navigate the forum and a couple of resources to hopefully answer your questions or guide you in your quest...

Welcome to the Hog.......you will a world of information and nothing short of an amazing number of opinions. But, you will also find some of the nicest people around, and a ton of inspiration to get out and shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. That is a very easy thing to do.....it amazing how much time can actually be spent here just looking around and reading what there is to offer!!
