I have a Canon SX30 IS and all of a sudden the camera no longer makes a clicking sound when I press the button to take a picture.
Is this a camera problem or did I unintentionally turn off the sound??

Does it still take the photo?
Perhaps you have it in some sort of 'museum' mode or othrrwise turned off that sound effect.
Photos come out as expected.
You had the volume up too loud and blew out the speaker! Actually, look in the setup menus for different themes and sound options.Make sure all sound options are turned on. You can also check this by shooting a short video of the TV screen and see if you get sound playback.

Most camera in this category do not make a sound when the shutter is opened. Instead, to give feedback to the photographer, a synthetic shutter sound is produced. Usually there is a silent mode that you might want to use when photographing skittish wildlife. Maybe you have done that accidentally.
Check the menu for an option that will return the camera to the default factory settings, then customize from there.
